About me

In the Jodcast studio

I grew up in Winchester and moved to Manchester in 2004 to study Physics with Astrophysics at The University of Manchester. In 2007 I spent the summer working at the Jodrell Bank Observatory as a research student and in 2008 I graduated with a first class MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics. In September 2008 I started my PhD in the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics and I passed my viva in August 2012.

Although I have lived in the UK all my life, I am technically part of the Sohklet clan of the Khasi tribe who live in north-east India.

You can find me on Twitter if you want to know what I'm thinking during the day in 140 characters or less. I also have a blog where I occasionally write about aspects of astronomy and my life as a PhD student.
